Arrhythmia

An arrhythmia is a broad term that indicates an abnormal heart rhythm. Arrhythmias can occur in the sinus node, the atria, or the atrioventricular node. They may be categorized as too fast (bradycardia), too slow (tachycardia), or irregular.

In any case, an arrhythmia can disrupt the heart’s normal contractions and may put the body’s vital organs at risk. While not all arrhythmias will cause harm and require treatment, an irregular heart rate should never be ignored.

With all the cardiovascular conditions treated at Corrielus Cardiology, we are equipped to diagnose the cause and severity of your cardiac arrhythmia and determine the best treatment plan that will protect your health.

Cardiomyopathy

Cardiomyopathy is a disease of the heart muscle caused when a weak heart muscle is not able to pump blood to the rest of the body. Poor muscle tone in the heart can be caused by:

  • Heart attack or blockage in the arteries (ischemic cardiomyopathy)
  • Medication, viral infection, or inflammation (non-ischemic cardiomyopathy)

A healthy heart pumps 55%-65% of the blood inside it to the rest of the body. However, in patients with cardiomyopathy, only 50% or less blood is pumped out.

In severe instances, cardiomyopathy has the potential to cause heart failure. It is, therefore, crucial to seek medical intervention to address this serious cardiac condition.

At Corrielus Cardiology, Dr. Corrielus offers a comprehensive assessment of your heart health to diagnose your specific type of cardiomyopathy and focuses on noninvasive cardiovascular care for your condition.

Heart Attacks

A heart attack, or myocardial infarction, is a sudden and life-threatening medical emergency characterized by the blockage of oxygenated blood flow to the heart. This critical condition occurs when the coronary arteries, which are responsible for supplying blood to the heart muscle, become obstructed.

At Corrielus Cardiology, we understand that a heart attack is an urgent health crisis that demands immediate intervention. Our comprehensive approach to cardiovascular care prioritizes your well-being through effective, non-invasive treatments.
