Heart Health Testing

At Corrielus Cardiology, we value the importance of providing accurate diagnosis for your heart condition so that the most appropriate treatment plan can be put in place. In doing so, we have equipped our Philadelphia wellness center with comprehensive cardiac testing services.

Our state-of-the-art medical technology allows us to evaluate the heart’s strength and function using non-invasive testing procedures.

Depending on your specific heart-related symptoms or risk factors, Dr. Corrielus may use one or more of the following testing methods to assess your heart health and identify areas of concern.

Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor

The Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor is a device worn throughout the day to measure blood pressure fluctuations and diagnose high blood pressure. It is similar to a blood pressure cuff that automatically inflates at set intervals to provide multiple blood pressure readings over 24 hours.

Atherosclerosis Screening (IMT)

Atherosclerosis Screening is a safe, non-invasive scan to measure the health of the arteries. IMT ultrasounds are specifically used to evaluate the artery wall thickness or presence of plaque buildup (atherosclerosis), which ultimately aids in heart attack prevention when detected early.

Echocardiograms

An echocardiogram or echo test uses ultrasound technology to evaluate the function and structure of the heart. At Corrielus Cardiology, we offer several proven echocardiogram techniques to give patients the most accurate depiction of their heart health.

Our Philadelphia wellness center is led by our board-certified cardiologist, Dr. Sanul Corrielus, who values using non-invasive testing and treatments to promote better heart health and overall wellness.

If you have symptoms of heart problems, an echocardiogram can help to see what's going on inside your heart. This test is a diagnostic technique used to measure the electrical activity in your heart. An echocardiogram could provide the information our team needs to ensure you get the right treatment.

Stress Tests

Corrielus Cardiology offers an expansive menu of cardiac testing services, including non-invasive stress tests. All our testing is carried out using state-of-the-art technology and equipment.

By carefully evaluating how your heart responds to exercise, we can gain important information about the health of your heart and, in many cases, help you prevent severe heart disease.

Dr. Corrielus is an experienced cardiologist who values an integrative approach to cardiovascular care. Our stress test options help determine how much stress your heart can manage before showing symptoms of arrhythmia or ischemia (poor blood flow to the heart).

We offer a variety of stress tests at Corrielus Cardiology.

Electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG)

An electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) is one of the quickest and simplest ways to evaluate the heart. This type of non-invasive cardiovascular testing specifically measures the electrical activity within the heart. These impulses signal different areas of the heart to contract and pump blood.

At Corrielus Cardiology, we offer many types of EKG testing in the comfort of our Philadelphia clinic. Dr. Corrielus brings an intricate knowledge of the heart when diagnosing and treating heart-related symptoms.

Our ability to provide comprehensive cardiac testing allows us to detect heart disease at its earliest stage and protect patients from the devastating consequences of heart failure.

Cardiac Event Monitor

An event monitor is a portable device worn by the patient that can assess symptomatic arrhythmias at the exact moments when the patient feels symptoms.

Sometimes, patients may feel heart-related symptoms, but they don’t always occur predictably. This can make it difficult to diagnose or evaluate your symptoms during a regular clinical visit. In such cases, an event monitor may be suggested.

Whenever the characteristic symptoms of your condition appear, you can push a button on the event monitor and activate the device to record and save information about your heart’s rhythm during that episode. This recording of the event’s occurrence allows Dr. Corrielus to gain better insight as to what is causing your heart-related symptoms and determine whether or not further testing may be necessary.

Holter Monitor

A Holter Monitor is a portable device worn by a patient over 1-2 days (or longer) to detect arrhythmias. Holter Monitors assess every heartbeat during the time it is worn while the patient carries out their normal, everyday activities.

Vascular Doppler Ultrasound

The Vascular Doppler Ultrasound is a non-invasive procedure to study blood flow through the arteries and veins using ultrasonic sound waves and advanced computer technology. Doppler ultrasounds can help detect blockages in the vessels caused by inflammation, plaque, or blood clots.

Peripheral Vascular Doppler Ultrasound

The Peripheral Vascular Doppler Ultrasound is a non-invasive scan that uses Doppler ultrasound to study blood flow in the arteries and veins. This is commonly performed on the legs or lower extremities to diagnose symptoms of peripheral artery disease (PAD).
